Having performed on big stages such as the Macufe festival hosted in Bloemfontein and the Joy of Jazz stages hosted in his home town Cosmo city – singer and songwriter Mbulelo Qala born 1991-06-17 is fast making his moves in the entertainment industry with his smash hit single titled Mbuzeni released through Tammy Music Publisher record label.
Mbulelo was first introduced to music in church like many talented individuals. Though music wasn’t even a considered career, the musical bug which was now in its fresh stages opened his eyes to a whole new world.
“I remember one particular Sunday i come from church and while i was on my way back home I saw some gents playing at the local car wash. Although i was walking home my heart and soul remained with the guys at the carwash, then and there i decided that i would drop off my church jacket at home and go back to the car wash. As soon as i got back to the busking guys i asked if i can grab the microphone and sing. As the guys played i sang along and that was the year was 2009”.
Though the journey hasn’t been a smooth sail, Mbulelo has had his fair share of drama, having signed a sour deal with 2 other guys forming a 3 man band called The Guage – this dealed kept Mbulelo hostage preventing him from working with any artist nor making extra coins through singing backing vocals for other artist -as the days progressed the poorer and deepressed Mbulelo got. ” I managed to finally get myself out that contract and was booked for my first show, my fan based started growing and the bookings kept trickling in.” Speaking about the song “well this song was inspired by love at it’s best and going back and forth in a relationship until the big question comes that people -Mbuzeni ke lo uba uya ndi thanda nah”.
“Signing with Tammy Music Publisher has been a blessing as they have allowed me to be as creative as possibly can with the guidance of my producer Dennis Mdluli.”
Some of the other shows Mbulelo has played in are Moretele tribute concert, Puisano live hosted by department of Arts and Culture as well as participating in various shows in his local lounges in his home town in carletonville.
