Since its inception, Y has firmly established itself as a powerhouse in the radio industry. Over the past year, the station has not only expanded its audience but has also seen a marked positive shift in brand perception, a testament to its unwavering commitment to innovation and progress.
First up, Y introduces its exciting new feature, Club Y, which promises to shake up the airwaves. Stepping into the shoes of the iconic YTKO mix show, Club Y brings a whole new energy to the station. Each Monday through Saturday, rotating DJs will take over, delivering the hottest tracks and the most daring mixes straight from the trendiest voices in the scene. Expect a seamless blend of styles, sounds, and high-energy vibes, as Club Y delivers a fusion of current chart-toppers and exciting newcomers. The lineup includes Shakes x Les, Thee Buhle, Ggoldie, Lesedi The DJ, Rarri, Venom, DJ Pedabotic, Legendary Crisp, DJ Zan-D, DJ Samba, and Just Mo, all bringing the heat and keeping the party going strong.

But that’s just the beginning. Weekday mornings are getting an exciting overhaul with The Way Up, hosted by the dynamic duo Nia Brown and Okay Wasabi from 05:00 to 09:00. Following that, Xtremme will join forces with show contributor Noni Khumalo to keep the energy high on Morning Break from 09:00 to 12:00. Lunchtime just got a whole lot hotter with The Lunch League, hosted by Caddy and Yvtte from 12:00 to 15:00. Meanwhile, Ayanda MVP will continue to lead The Home Run weekdays from 15:00 to 18:00, now joined by Y’s newest recruit, Sinaye, adding even more fire to the mix.
As the day winds down, the excitement doesn’t stop. The infamous reality TV star will take over post-18:00 with his own hour-long show, Happy Hour, ensuring the evening stays lively. Meanwhile, Club Y returns from 19:00 to 20:00, followed by Tulz Madala and Dimpho Mokgotho with their unapologetically bold show UNCENSORED, airing from 20:00 to 22:00.
Phindi Ziqubu, Y’s Content Manager, explains, “Y listeners can expect a lineup full of captivating, thought-provoking content that speaks to their needs while keeping it fresh, exciting, and most importantly, relevant. With our commitment to building new talent, the inclusion of fresh voices will breathe new energy into the airwaves, enriching the experience for both loyal and new audiences.”

But the excitement doesn’t end there. From Sunday to Wednesday, Savage Nights takes over the airwaves from 22:00 to 00:00, hosted by Thabo X alongside Shamiso, closing out the evening with an unforgettable vibe.
Weekend mornings will now be anchored by Sizwe M, a beloved voice on Y, with Wake ‘n Shake on Saturdays and Sundays, followed by Sunday Feels Part I from 06:00 to 10:00. Adding even more spark to the weekend is 2024’s BeTheNext winner, Karen Mthethwa, who will be hosting two shows: The Glow Up from 10:00 to 14:00 and Sunday Feels Part II, also airing at the same time on Sundays.
In addition to the stellar lineup on air, Y is also expanding its digital presence with three exciting new shows. Tell Us Y, hosted by Hey Shawty, Culture Unlocked with Perceey ASF, and Yonda Way hosted by Zingah form part of Y’s innovative Beyond FM strategy. This initiative seeks to expand the station’s reach while offering fresh and engaging content to an even wider audience. These dynamic new shows will bring their unique voices to the station, enriching the experience for Y’s online followers by keeping them engaged and connected across social media platforms.
As the year progresses, Y’s MD, Haseena Cassim, shares, “We’ve always been bold at Y, and this year’s lineup will once again prove this. While we still have some of your favorite voices from the past, we’re thrilled to welcome new faces that will bring fresh and dynamic energy to the station. It’s all about pushing boundaries and taking Y to new heights in 2025. And Y NOT? Be unstoppable in everything you do — that’s the motto we stand by!”

Unfortunately, 2025 also marks the departure of two beloved Y personalities, Supta and Mthaux. While they may no longer be on the airwaves, their legacy will always be part of Y’s DNA. We wish them the best in their future endeavors and will certainly miss their contributions to the station.
With such an electrifying lineup, it’s clear that 2025 is set to be Y’s most exciting year yet! Get ready to tune in and experience the future of radio in the most innovative and dynamic way possible.
