Converse is excited to launch The Retro Running Collective, a brand-new collection that brings old-school running style into today’s world. The collection features three new sneakers – the Wave Trainer, Omni Trainer, and Omega Trainer – all designed for everyday wear with a classic Converse feel.

Inspired by running shoes from the 1980s, these new sneakers combine vintage style with modern comfort. They’re perfect for South Africans who love timeless fashion but want something fresh and versatile for daily life.

Converse has been creating sneakers since 1908 and has one of the biggest and most creative archives in the industry, with over 10,000 items. Instead of simply copying old styles, Converse has used its rich history to inspire new designs that feel both familiar and exciting.

The Wave Trainer brings back the look of a 1989 running shoe, with soft suede and mesh on the upper. It’s comfortable to wear all day, thanks to special CX foam cushioning inside and under the foot. The shoe also has reflective details, an embroidered Converse star logo, and a strong rubber sole for good grip.

The Omni Trainer is inspired by a 1984 Converse model called the Equinox. It has a tough, sporty look made with durable nylon and suede. It’s also built for comfort with soft CX foam inside.

The Omega Trainer takes ideas from two classic sneakers – the 1984 Thunderbolt and 1985 Gazelle. It’s light, easy to wear, and made with a woven upper and suede accents. It features an EVA midsole, making it a great choice for both comfort and style.

The new Retro Running sneakers are now available in Converse stores across South Africa and online at Converse.co.za, starting from R1,599.95.

Whether you’re walking around the city or just love retro style, this collection is all about mixing history with a modern edge.
