In June 2021, amid the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, Garth found himself in the ICU. Clinging to hope, he repeatedly hummed a cherished biblical verse: “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, you are the one, you’re my comfort and my help.” This scripture transformed into a song, “No Evil,” which he is now set to release over three years later.
Today, Garth Brown is ready to unveil “No Evil,” marking a new chapter in his musical journey. As a musician and a beacon of hope, Garth uses his songs to recount some of his darkest moments. This poignant track serves as the prologue to his forthcoming EP.
Garth describes “No Evil” as the prophecy that saved his life. Originally recorded as a freestyle video after a studio session for Shi Kargo’s single “About You” in August 2020, the song took on new meaning during his battle with COVID-19 a year later.
With over a decade in the music industry, Garth reflects on how “No Evil” sustained him during his harrowing illness in June 2021. The lyrics and melody echoed the strength and hope that carried him through, transforming a period of suffering into an anthem of survival and renewal.
“This song literally saved my life. As I sang it silently to myself, I felt His strength returning to me. I attribute my recovery to Him and the powerful message in the words: ‘Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, you are the one, you’re my comfort and my help,’” he shares.
This year, Garth has received numerous prophetic encounters affirming that music is a significant part of his life purpose. The Holy Spirit took over Garth; he closed his eyes and began singing what is now known as ‘No Evil.’ I’m so glad I captured that moment on video. It was a great, unexplained studio experience. I’m thrilled it turned out the way it did, and now we can share the anointing we felt while creating it.”
