Maison Martell, the world’s oldest cognac house, is setting its sights on Africa’s most influential creative cities — and Johannesburg is first in line.
Launching in March 2026, Maison Martell arrives as a cultural residence rather than just a venue. Designed as a bold, immersive space, it reimagines French cognac heritage through a distinctly South African lens. No two cities will experience the same Maison, with each iteration shaped by local identity, creative voices and cultural nuance.
In Johannesburg, the residence will take over Montecasino in Fourways from 8–22 March 2026, transforming the space into a layered world of craft and culture. Martell will collaborate with leading tastemakers across music, fashion, culinary arts and design, creating an environment where heritage meets contemporary African influence.
Guests can expect intimate live performances, chef-led collaborations, bespoke tastings, design installations and art-driven moments — each unfolding as a limited-time expression of culture and craft. Every room is designed to be discovered, turning the experience into something collectible and deeply personal.
“Martell’s philosophy of time, craft, and patience blends naturally with South Africa’s cultural economy, driven by creativity, collaboration, and influence. The Maison is where these worlds meet, creating space to slow down and experience luxury with intention,” says Tintswalo Baloyi, Category Director: Prestige & High Energy at Pernod Ricard South Africa.
In a city known for its pace and ambition, Maison Martell offers something different: slow luxury. Long lunches. Late dinners. Meaningful conversation. Precisely crafted cocktails. It is an intentional pause where luxury is measured not by spectacle, but by time and depth.
Access will be limited, with a small number of tickets released daily to preserve the intimacy of the experience.
Save the date: 8–22 March 2026 at Montecasino, Fourways. Ticket sales go live soon.
