Following an unprecedented surge in demand for Scorpion Kings Live at FNB Stadium, additional tickets will be released today, 6 May, at 5pm—giving thousands more fans a shot at witnessing what is already shaping up to be a defining moment for amapiano.
The announcement comes after an explosive first day of ticket sales, where Webtickets recorded over half a million users in the queue. It’s a staggering figure—one that sets a new benchmark for both local and international acts on South African soil.
Within just hours of going live, more than 50,000 tickets were snapped up—matching the full capacity of last year’s Scorpion Kings Live with Friends at Loftus Versfeld Stadium, and already accounting for 60% of the total capacity for this year’s FNB Stadium spectacle.
The demand didn’t just live on ticketing platforms—it spilled over onto social media. Fans flooded timelines, calling for more access. During a live Instagram session, DJ Maphorisa, later joined by Kabza De Small, engaged directly with fans on whether additional tickets should be released sooner.
“We see the demand, we see the fans asking, and we want to know from you, do we release more today at 5pm or later?” said DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small. “These tickets were always meant for the people, especially those who usually buy later in the month. But after yesterday, it’s clear—we need to open it up so more people can come through and be part of this.”
Originally set aside for fans who typically purchase closer to mid-month and payday cycles, the reserved allocation will now be made available immediately—ensuring broader access in response to overwhelming demand.
Set for 19 September 2026, Scorpion Kings Live is expected to draw over 80,000 fans, making it the largest amapiano concert ever staged. Following the groundbreaking 2025 edition, the event continues to evolve into a cultural force, reflecting the genre’s global rise.
With anticipation reaching fever pitch, DJ Maphorisa has hinted that the experience could expand even further. If today’s ticket drop sells out at the same pace, a second show is on the table—another potential milestone for the Scorpion Kings and the ever-growing amapiano movement.
Fans are urged to act quickly as the next wave of tickets becomes available, as demand is expected to remain exceptionally high.
Tickets are available on Webtickets, Pick n Pay and Boxer stores nationwide.
This is more than just a show – it’s history unfolding in real time.
