Eliud Kipchoge Teams Up With Huawei to Redefine Running

Estimated read time 2 min read

The dsm-firmenich Running Team, home to global marathon icon Eliud Kipchoge, has entered a powerful new partnership with Huawei, naming the technology giant as its official technology partner. Known as the world’s most formidable running team, the collaboration unites elite athletic performance with advanced wearable innovation, ushering in a new era of smarter, data-driven training and global running inspiration.

Eliud Kipchoge’s legacy is etched into sporting history. His groundbreaking 1:59:40 marathon didn’t just break the two-hour barrier—it redefined human possibility. Guided by his belief that “No Human Is Limited,” Kipchoge has always viewed running as a universal language, accessible to everyone regardless of age, pace, or ambition. For him, running is freedom, health, and unity in motion.

In November 2025, after earning the prestigious Seven Star Marathon medal, Kipchoge announced an ambitious new challenge: running seven marathons across seven continents. The mission goes beyond records, aiming to unite cultures through sport and inspire healthier lifestyles around the world.

To support this vision, Kipchoge sought a partner with global reach and technological excellence. Huawei proved to be the perfect match. With over 12 years in health and fitness innovation and more than 200 million wearable devices shipped globally by mid-2025, Huawei has established itself as a leader in performance-focused wearable technology.

The partnership comes as Huawei prepares to unveil its latest professional running watch, marking its return to the elite running watch space five years after launching the HUAWEI WATCH GT Runner. The new device integrates Huawei’s TruSense system for comprehensive health tracking and the Sunflower positioning system for exceptional GPS accuracy.

Tested with over 100 runners, the watch delivers race performance prediction accuracy exceeding 97%, while its machine-learning fatigue assessment helps athletes train smarter and recover better. Insights from elite runners such as Kipchoge and Joshua Cheptegei will further refine the technology, ensuring it meets real-world performance demands.

Designed for professionals and everyday runners alike, Huawei’s latest innovation bridges the gap between elite performance and accessibility—empowering more people to run better, train smarter, and experience the joy of movement.
