Africa’s creative economy is preparing for a defining moment as Johannesburg gets ready to host the inaugural CR8TOR WEEK AFRICA (CWA) from 24–29 March 2026. The week-long event is expected to bring together creators, founders, cultural leaders and creative businesses from across the continent and beyond.

What began years ago as CR8TORCON — and later took shape through a smaller launch event in 2024 that gathered South Africa’s creative community — has now grown into a continent-wide platform. CR8TOR WEEK AFRICA represents the next phase of a movement built for creators, by creators, with the goal of strengthening African voices and expanding global creative exchange.

Taking place in Johannesburg, the event positions the city as an increasingly important hub within the global creative landscape. As Africa’s creative industries continue to grow and attract investment, the platform aims to highlight the continent’s influence across storytelling, media, technology, art, design and entertainment.

The week will feature immersive talks, DJ performances, networking experiences and curated showcases designed to spark collaboration and new ideas. A lineup of speakers including Sean Brown, Francois Ferreira, Nene Mahlangu, Simhle Plaatjies, Jena Dominique and Sne Mbatha will share their experiences and insights with audiences made up of creators, entrepreneurs and cultural innovators.

More than just a conference, the event aims to create a collaborative space where ideas, partnerships and opportunities can emerge naturally. Organisers say the platform is built around community-driven innovation and reflects the growing shift within the global creator economy toward purpose-driven work and culturally grounded storytelling.

As the creative sector gains recognition as a powerful economic driver across Africa, CR8TOR WEEK AFRICA arrives at a time when the continent’s creators are increasingly shaping global culture. For creators, founders, strategists and cultural enthusiasts alike, the event promises to be a meeting point for the future of Africa’s creative industries.
