Replenishment Concert Brings Gospel And Comedy To Joburg

Estimated read time 2 min read

Replenishment in Johannesburg is about to get a new twist. In the first-ever Joburg edition, the popular gospel event is looking to take itself out of the traditional worship environment by adding comedy into the mix of an event where praise and entertainment will be combined.

Scheduled for Saturday, 31 October 2026, at Sandown High Top Fields, the 2026 edition will have the fun theme “God Is a Comedian,” and among those comedians will be the South African favorite Celeste Ntuli, accompanied by five other comedians and 10 gospel artists.

On top of that, gospel powerhouses like Joyous Celebration, Xolly Mncwango and Jumbo have been confirmed with more coming from the comedy and entertainment line-ups.

In any case, this is definitely going to be a landmark event in Replenishment history. Not only is it the first-time Replenishment is held in Joburg but it’s also the first time when comedy has been included into a traditionally gospel-oriented event.

Furthermore, the event builds on a five-year legacy that has welcomed some of gospel music’s biggest names, including Dr Rebecca Malope, Benjamin Dube, Grammy Award winner Bishop Hezekiah Walker Jr., Sbu Noah and Bishop Noel Jones.

Keeping proceedings moving throughout the day will be host Alphi Mkhwanazi, who is expected to bring his own energy to an already packed programme.

For founder Thabo ‘Tbo Touch’ Molefe, Johannesburg was the perfect place to introduce this new chapter.

“We’re bringing the gospel, the music, the laughter and a whole lot of energy. Why must worship always be serious?” says Molefe. “Gospel music moves the soul and comedy lifts the spirit, so I said, let’s put them on the same stage and give people a day they won’t forget.”

Ultimately, Replenishment 2026 promises to be about more than music. It is about bringing people together, creating memories and offering audiences an experience that leaves them both entertained and spiritually replenished.
