Audiomack Deepens Its Commitment to South Africa’s Music Scene

With South African music continuing to influence audiences far beyond the country’s borders, Audiomack is strengthening its presence in one of the world’s most dynamic and influential music markets.

South Africa has become an important part of Audiomack’s global music ecosystem, with the platform creating opportunities for artists and fans across a wide range of genres. From Amapiano, Maskandi and 3-Step to hip-hop, R&B, Afropop and the sounds emerging from different parts of the country, Audiomack has positioned itself as a destination for discovering and celebrating South African talent.

That focus can be seen across its growing selection of South African playlists, including Hometown Heroes: South Africa, Afro House, New Releases: Amapiano and SA Hip Hop. The playlists offer fans dedicated spaces to discover established artists, rising talent and the next generation of Mzansi musicians.

The platform has also continued placing South African artists at the heart of its discovery ecosystem. During 2026, artists including Sjava, Mawelele, Naledi Aphiwe, Lordkez, DJ Lag, Babalwa M and Jazzwrld have received editorial support and visibility through Audiomack’s playlists and artist discovery initiatives.

Sjava received support from Audiomack around his latest album, Inkanyezi NeZinkanyezi, while Mawelele, Naledi Aphiwe and Lordkez were included in the Audiomack African Artists to Watch 2026 selection. The recognition further highlights Audiomack’s focus on artists helping shape the future of African music.

The platform’s investment in South African culture also extends beyond individual artists. In late 2025, Audiomack launched a dedicated Zulu music campaign celebrating the depth and diversity of Zulu sounds across genres such as Maskandi, Gqom, Afropop and Hip-Hop.

At the centre of the campaign was a collection of playlists giving different expressions of Zulu music their own space on the platform. These included iSginci, dedicated to Maskandi; iGqom, spotlighting Gqom; and iSizwe SakwaZulu, which brought together a broader selection of Zulu music across genres.

Artists including Zee Nxumalo, Khuzani, Aubrey Qwana and Umlabalaba featured in the campaign, giving listeners an opportunity to connect with established names while discovering artists pushing Zulu music in new directions.

Audiomack’s involvement in South Africa has also extended into some of the culture’s biggest music moments. The platform has supported initiatives such as DBN Gogo 24hrs Set, partnered with Elaine for Soft Girl Sundae and continued creating opportunities for local artists to connect with audiences through its platform.

“South Africa has always been one of the most exciting music markets in the world,” said Charlotte Bwana, Vice President Marketing, Audiomack. “We have seen incredible artists use Audiomack to build audiences, reach new listeners and share their music with the world. Our commitment is about continuing to invest in that ecosystem and making sure that the artists shaping the next generation of South African music have a platform that sees them, supports them and helps them get discovered.”

That investment is now being brought to life through Umculo Ohamba Nawe (Music That Moves With You), a campaign developed in partnership with Sebenza Wi-Fi.

Rather than simply introducing South Africans to Audiomack, the campaign taps into the everyday relationship people already have with music. From the morning commute and taxi rides to discovering a new favourite artist, exchanging songs with friends and creating playlists for every mood, the campaign celebrates the role music continues to play in everyday South African life.

As Audiomack continues to expand its footprint in the country, its focus will remain on working with artists, fans and cultural partners through local storytelling, music discovery initiatives and partnerships that support the people shaping South Africa’s sound.

“South African music has never stayed in one place,” added Bwana. “It moves from city to city, from artist to fan, from the studio to the taxi, and from South Africa to the rest of the world. Audiomack is there for that journey.”

Music lovers can download Audiomack from their mobile app stores and explore the latest South African sounds, playlists and artists available on the platform.
