Soweto, Johannesburg, 16 June 2021: What was meant to be a historic Day of Goodwill and giving at the #SowetoYouthGolfDay has unfortunately been cancelled due to riots and protests outside the Soweto Country Club.

For the safety of all the guests, the organisers of the #SowetoYouthGolfDay have advised that this day be moved to a more suited time.
“It is with great disappointment that we have to pull the plug on such a well-organised day of commemoration. We have sponsors, individuals, and media who invested their time, resources, and money in the golf day. But we value people’s lives and cannot put anyone at risk.”Luckily, blankets and non-perishable foods were distributed on Monday 14 June 2021 to six NPO’s in Pimville, Kliptown and Klipspruit.
What a sad day for the township economy!
