Estimated read time 3 min read

HUAWEI has officially launched its new WATCH GT 7 Series in South Africa, bringing together a refined design, smarter health tracking, fitness features and long battery life in a smartwatch built for everyday life.

The new range includes the HUAWEI WATCH GT 7 Pro, HUAWEI WATCH GT 7 46 mm and HUAWEI WATCH GT 7 41 mm, with the series designed to work with both iOS and Android smartphones.

At the centre of the new experience is HUAWEI’s TruSense System, which powers a range of health and wellbeing features. The upgraded Health Insights experience brings information together through a morning briefing, intelligent health analysis and the new Physical Readiness feature.

Physical Readiness combines indicators including sleep quality, sleeping heart rate variability, sleeping heart rate, stress and calories burned to provide users with an overview of their daily recovery. The feature classifies readiness into five levels, ranging from Excellent to Needs Attention.

The watches also offer additional health-related features, including the Diabetes Risk Study and, on the WATCH GT 7 Pro, the Coronary Heart Disease Risk Study. These features are intended to provide users with information about potential risk indicators and are not a replacement for professional medical diagnosis or treatment.

Beyond physical health, the series also introduces Emotional Wellbeing, which can track changes in emotional states over time and offer guided breathing exercises. The HUAWEI Health app further supports features such as Cycle Calendar and Family Space, allowing participating family members to share selected health and activity information.

But the WATCH GT 7 Series isn’t only focused on health tracking.

For fitness enthusiasts, the range includes more than 110 workout modes, with new skiing and cycling experiences. The series also introduces the Padel Points app, which uses AI to recognise racket swings and track swing speed, giving players additional information about their performance on court.

Battery life is another major feature. The HUAWEI WATCH GT 7 Pro and WATCH GT 7 46 mm offer up to 21 days of battery life under light usage, while the 41 mm model offers up to 14 days. This is designed to make continuous use across work, travel, sleep and workouts more convenient.

On the design front, HUAWEI has introduced a selection of colours, materials and strap options. The WATCH GT 7 Pro features a nano-tech ceramic bezel and titanium alloy middle frame, giving it a more premium finish, while the EasyCross fluoroelastomer strap is designed for everyday comfort.

The WATCH GT 7 Series is now available in South Africa from R5,999. Customers can also access selected add-on offers from R169 per month over 36 months, while selected purchases include a HUAWEI FreeBuds SE 2 valued at R1,499.

The offer is available through HUAWEI’s official online stores and participating authorised retailers, while stocks last. Terms and conditions apply.
