“Khethile is a very important song not just for me but for everyone who has been forced to start from scratch due to the Covid19 pandemic, 2020 has been a very challenging year for many people and Khethile is a song about making a choice to be okay and focus on your dreams even though the world is crumbling right under your feet” says The Journalist.

We had a chat with The Journalist and this is what he had to say

Why music?

I love music and for me it’s the most beautiful form of expression, I’m a journalist by trade and I understand how to communicate with words but music delivers messages better when words fail.

What was the inspiration behind the song?

Khethile is about making difficult choices in life, it’s a song about choosing yourself and distancing yourself from toxic situations and relationships.

How do you choose vocalists?

I love working with vocalists that are upcoming because they always have something refreshing to offer the music industry, I listen to a lot of local music so I normally discover hidden talent in places people normally overlook.

How has the global lockdown affected your brand?

Before lockdown I was well on my way to touring the country and continent but that had to be put on hold because of the pandemic. I was however able to focus more time on honing my production and DJ skills.
