Johannesburg is about to get a serious dose of beauty, glamour and star power when L’Oréal Paris brings its World’s Biggest Makeup Masterclass to the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit on 19 September 2026, with Bonang Matheba confirmed as the host.
The media personality and entrepreneur’s involvement marks another chapter in her long-standing relationship with L’Oréal Paris, which has seen her move effortlessly between the worlds of beauty, fashion and entertainment while representing the brand both locally and internationally.
Her relationship with the beauty giant reached an international milestone in 2023 when Bonang joined L’Oréal Paris’ Le Défilé at Paris Fashion Week, walking alongside a host of global fashion and entertainment personalities. The appearance added another significant moment to her already impressive career.
Now, she is returning to South Africa to take the lead at a masterclass designed to bring professional beauty techniques and expert advice to thousands of makeup enthusiasts.
Joining Bonang will be actress and L’Oréal Paris Sub-Saharan Africa ambassador Ama Qamata, who brings a fresh perspective and represents a younger generation of African women embracing beauty, confidence and individuality on their own terms.
The event will also feature internationally recognised makeup artist Harold James, L’Oréal Paris Global Makeup Artist and Artistic Director. With experience spanning the global beauty and fashion industries, James will give attendees an opportunity to learn professional techniques, practical tips and insights from behind the makeup chair.
Together, Bonang, Qamata and James bring different strengths to the experience — from Bonang’s influence and ability to connect with an audience, to Qamata’s contemporary voice and James’ international artistry.
But while makeup will undoubtedly be at the centre of the experience, the masterclass is built around a bigger message.
