ESPN Africa Brings New NFL Season to Fans Across Africa

American football is just around the corner with ESPN Africa announcing that fans across the continent will get to watch live NFL games from the second largest sporting league from 9 September 2026.

Thirty-two teams vying for playoff spots and, ultimately, Super Bowl LXI promise yet another season full of rivalries, impressive performances and dramatic turns of events.

During the regular season, four live NFL games will be broadcast by ESPN Africa weekly, allowing fans to stay tuned to the action all throughout the 18-week season.

Live NFL games will be aired on ESPN and ESPN2 channels in Azam, DStv, StarTimes, Wananchi/Zuku TV and ZAP. In addition, viewers in South Africa will be able to watch ESPN and ESPN2 on linear channels of Disney+.

Repeat games will also be aired during regular programming schedule, providing even more opportunities for viewers to catch missed games.

The road to Super Bowl LXI

The upcoming NFL season will see 32 teams competing in 17 regular season games in an 18-week period with every game being crucial in the quest to qualify for postseason places.

Defending Super Bowl champions the Seattle Seahawks will look to retain their Vince Lombardi Trophy and keep their supremacy at the league’s top but defending the crown will not be easy.

NFL season 2026 will feature established stars, legendary teams, rising stars and rivalries that define American football.
