The Collen Mashawana Foundation (CMF) has proudly announced that its Founder, Dr Collen Mashawana, will be honoured at the prestigious 2026 Community Builders in Africa Awards set to take place in Harare, Zimbabwe.
The ceremony will be hosted at the Rainbow Towers Hotel on Friday, 15 May 2026, bringing together some of Africa’s most influential leaders, philanthropists, innovators, and social impact pioneers dedicated to shaping the future of the continent through community development and transformative leadership.

Dr Mashawana’s recognition comes as a celebration of his unwavering commitment to humanitarian work, social upliftment, and restoring dignity to vulnerable communities across South Africa and the African continent through the work of the Collen Mashawana Foundation.
Over the years, the Foundation has become synonymous with hope and empowerment, leading impactful initiatives focused on housing interventions, youth empowerment, support for the elderly, disaster relief, and sustainable community development programmes. Through these efforts, thousands of lives have been positively transformed, making CMF one of the continent’s respected humanitarian organisations.

The 2026 Community Builders in Africa Awards is expected to feature several distinguished African leaders and changemakers who have made significant contributions in their respective sectors. Among those expected to be honoured alongside Dr Mashawana are Hon. Paul Mavima, Hon. Tatenda Mavetera, Hon. Frederick Shava, Hon.
