South Africa’s rising vocal talent is being handed the opportunity of a lifetime as Red Bull South Africa officially opens nationwide auditions for aspiring choirs and vocal groups to perform at the highly anticipated Red Bull Symphonic 2026. Following a historic double sell-out announcement and the introduction of its first-ever dual-headliner format, Red Bull Symphonic 2026 is now searching for one talented choir to join the already explosive lineup featuring Sun-El Musician, Dlala Thukzin, conductor Chad Hendricks, the renowned Vocal Hue and a full symphonic orchestra at Montecasino on 13 and 14 June.
Titled Afro House, Our Home, this year’s edition promises a powerful fusion of orchestral excellence and South African dance music culture, with the choir element once again set to become the emotional core of the production. From soulful harmonies to emotionally charged arrangements, the choir’s presence has become one of the defining features of Red Bull Symphonic’s growing legacy.
Now, Red Bull is extending that spotlight to everyday South Africans with voices powerful enough to move a nation.
To enter, hopeful participants are required to assemble a choir consisting of 4 to 8 members and record an a cappella performance of their favourite Sun-El Musician or Dlala Thukzin track. The performance must be under 90 seconds and shared on social media using the hashtag #RedBullSymphonic while tagging the artists involved. Contestants must also complete their official submission through Red Bull Symphonic South Africa.
Entries will be reviewed by the Choir Director, who will select the winning group to participate in the full Red Bull Symphonic rehearsal process before taking the stage across both show nights.
With entries officially open until 30 May, the search is now on for the next voices capable of elevating one of South Africa’s most groundbreaking live music experiences.
