South Africa’s flavour culture is heating up as Crosse & Blackwell Kasi Magic Sauces partners with Shoprite and Checkers for the 2026 Championship Boerewors competition.

This nationwide search for the best boerewors brings together butchers, braai masters and food lovers from across the country, all competing for the title of South Africa’s ultimate boerewors champion. Now in its 34th year, the competition continues to celebrate one of Mzansi’s most iconic foods.

Kasi Magic, known for its bold township-inspired flavours, steps in as the official sauce partner, adding an extra layer of heat and taste to every stage of the competition. From Jalapeño & Cheese to Hot & Spicy and Cheese varieties, the range is designed to elevate every braai experience.

Speaking on the partnership, Kasi Magic highlighted the shared cultural connection between boerewors and township-inspired cooking, both rooted in community, heritage and bringing people together through food.

Entries for the competition are open via www.championshipboerewors.co.za and close on 12 June 2026, giving aspiring champions one last chance to perfect their secret recipe and enter the race for national glory.
