Meli Lounge is celebrating 20 years in business!

Johannesburg – Running a business in South Africa takes a lot of hard work, sheer determination not forgetting all negativity from the general public tellinig you that YOUR business will fail and statistics have shown us that most businesses fail within 72 months of being in existences but this wasn’t the case for Meli Lounge which is a lifestyle and entertainment establishment in the heart of Pimville Soweto – south of Johannesburg. Having been in business for 20 years, this Sunday Meli Lounge will see A-Listers setting foot in what is set to the event of the year .

Founded by Meli Morewane in November 2000 in a very small one room space hosting an average of 20 people a night, the lounge has grown from selling liquor in ice-buckets and cooler boxes to a very ‘larger-than-life stylish venue to relax and enjoy a glass of premium drinks and African cuisine.

“I started this place from humble beginnings and a humongous vision. To have gone through so many adversities that tested my faith in both business and on an interpersonal level, I am proud to have stood strong and saw my dream unravel in front me”.

The establishment boasts as the biggest whiskey distributor and seller in Soweto and as a result hosts a number connoisseurs who come from various industries and academic fields. In a nutshell, it is described as the Home you come to after a long stressful day to have jaw-throbbing conversations and scrumptious food.

With the lounges tagline in mind “Everything big”, Meli Morewane further added that it is important to “allow people to feast with us and acknowledge that this is a huge milestone”.
