CONVERSE AND FENG CHEN WANG REINTRODUCE THE CHUCK 70 2-IN-1

Concept Shoe Reimagined in 2024 with Ox Cut

Over five years ago, Feng Chen Wang captured the global attention of creative culture when she presented her vision of the canvas sneaker: a carefully deconstructed and delicately reassembled Chuck 70 concept shoe, complete with hand-painted details during her SS19 Menswear presentation during New York Fashion Week.

Now, Feng Chen Wang returns to present the newest chapter of her vision for the Chuck 70 2-in-1, this time in an Ox cut, low version of the shoe.

For Feng, the bold concept converges form and style in a singular approach. Not dissimilar to the exploration of layering often seen in both Wang’s eponymous brand and her previous Converse collaborations, the silhouette is crafted with ‘two’ in mind: a paired canvas overlay, double-layered foxing tape and a modified outsole, spliced into four quadrants, keenly demonstrating the duality of intent for Wang’s idea while providing the wearer with enhanced “flex” in their step within the highly structured build.

On January 18, the concept shoe reemerged in a low top, “Ox cut” during the Feng Chen Wang Autumn/Winter 2024 Menswear presentation during Paris Fashion Week.

The Converse x Feng Chen Wang Chuck 70 2-in-1 debuted in two colorways globally on Feb. 6, 2024, on Converse.com and select global retailers. In South Africa it’s officially available on the Converse website, Converse store in Sandton City Shopping Centre and Shelflife from 15 February 2024.
