Johannesburg, 27 September 2021 – for the past couple of weeks Johannesburg’s weather has been cold and gloomy but over the weekend the sun came out to play just in time for the celebration of “Shaka Day” now known as Heritage Day. While many South Africa had set up their braai stands over the weekend – Castle Milk Stout and Tshepo Jeans treated friends, family, the media and influencers to a day out in Braamfontein serving a 100% South African vibe, food and beverages.

Tshepo Mohlala founder of Tshepo Jeans who is in collaboration with Castle Milk Stout took the opportunity to set up a pop up store where consumers could come and buy custom made apparel in celebration of the heritage month. Some pieces which were on sale where high end custom made denim jackets, dungarees and denim pants, these items which were on sale are slightly different to the original Tshepo Jeans which we have come to love.

Upon arrival at the exclusive event, our temperature was taken making sure everyone follows the covid-19 regulations and as soon as the process was complete we were ushered to a table where a bucket of chilled Castle Milk Stout was waiting for us. As much as everyone was doing their own thing and groups of close friends were having their individual conversations, a sense of Ubuntu and unity was shared right across the room.

To complete the luncheon – plates filled with steaming hot pap dressed in tomato gravy and succulent braai meat danced on waiters hands as they served the guests. An event can’t be truly South African without infectious amapiano sounds blasting in the background.

Some of guest sported at the event were  Nia Brown and Mthaux of YFM, Nhlanhla Mhlangu of Channel Africa and the man of the hour Tshepo Mohlala of Tshepo Jeans
