Judith Sephuma Returns to Gospel for Live Worship Recording

Estimated read time 3 min read

Nine years after releasing My Worship, Judith Sephuma is preparing to return to gospel music with a live recording that will bring together her faith, musical journey and the audience that has continued to ask for more.

Titled Judith Sephuma – A Worship Experience, the project will be recorded on Friday, 27 November 2026, at the Theatre of Marcellus at Emperors Palace. The event marks a new chapter for the celebrated vocalist, who released her gospel album My Worship in 2017.

Over the years, fans have continued to call for Judith to revisit the genre. Now, she is responding with a project that goes beyond a conventional album release, inviting audiences to experience the music as it is created on stage.

For Judith, the recording carries a deeply personal meaning. Her faith, growth and experiences since the release of My Worship have shaped the direction of this new offering, with worship serving as the central theme.

“Worship, for me, is more than a song—it is a lifestyle and a daily surrender to God. Through every season, God’s grace has carried me, turning my pain into purpose and my tears into testimony. Being a child of God means walking in the assurance of His love, and my life is simply a vessel for His glory. Nine years later, we are ready to deliver A Worship Experience,” says Sephuma.

Unlike a traditional concert, the live recording will make the audience part of the creative process. Their voices, reactions and collective energy will contribute to the final recording, preserving the atmosphere of the evening beyond the stage.

Furthermore, the programme will feature songs from Judith’s forthcoming gospel project alongside selected favourites from her established repertoire. Audiences can therefore expect an evening of powerful vocals, reflection, gratitude and worship, led by one of South Africa’s recognised musical voices.

The return also highlights another dimension of Judith’s musical journey, allowing listeners to reconnect with the gospel sound that has remained part of her relationship with her audience.

For those who have been waiting for her return to the genre, the upcoming recording offers an opportunity to witness the next chapter as it unfolds.
