Sandton’s Inanda Club came alive this past Sunday as Heineken Polo, in association with L’OR, Bernini, and the Inanda Polo Club, hosted an unforgettable day that blended sport, style, and culture in one dazzling showcase.
Blessed with perfect spring weather, guests were welcomed to the lush grounds of the Inanda Club, where breathtaking views set the stage for this year’s theme: Chukka Culture: Polo Prestige Meets Streetwear Cool. From sharp tailoring paired with sneakers to elegant gowns with urban flair, the style on display gave polo a bold, modern edge.
The festivities kicked off in the Heineken Chukka Club, a brand-new hospitality area offering an exclusive sit-down lunch, premium lounge settings, and sweeping aerial views of the polo field. Guests enjoyed world-class comfort while watching the drama of the chukkas unfold.

A glamorous guest list added sparkle to the event, with appearances from entrepreneur Naliyana Uma, influencer Cherne Africa, style icon Blue Mbombo, and award-winning actresses Nomvelo Makhanya and Zikhona Sodlaka. Music royalty DJ Thuli Phongolo and DJ Fresh turned up the energy with electrifying sets, keeping the party alive long after the final whistle.

On the field, fans were treated to high-octane matchups and memorable traditions:
- Guests joined in the beloved divot-stomping ritual, bringing them closer to the game.
- A jaw-dropping run-off race between horses and a Ferrari merged heritage and horsepower in spectacular fashion.
In the Plate Final, Team Alistair claimed victory, with Jossie Splisbury named Most Valuable Player and Tinkle earning Best Playing Pony.
The Championship Final crowned Fairview Meadows as overall champions, with Reckless Polo taking the runner-up spot. Steve Stewart stood out as Most Valuable Player, while the magnificent pony Dreams was honoured as Best Playing Pony.
A Cultural Checkpoint
As the sun dipped below the skyline, the celebration rolled on with music, conversation, and laughter, carrying the same style and energy that defined the entire day.
“Heineken Polo is more than just a tournament; it’s a cultural checkpoint,” said Juaan Ferreira, Event Organiser. “This year we celebrated not only the skill and spectacle of the sport but also the style, storytelling, and energy that make it a defining lifestyle moment on the continent.”
With fashion-forward looks, exhilarating play, and world-class hospitality, Heineken Polo 2025 proved once again that the magic doesn’t end at the last chukka—it lives on in every memory and every story shared long after the day closes.
