The keys have officially changed hands as TOPS at SPAR announced the six lucky winners of its highly successful Win a Car 2026 campaign, with each winner driving away in a unique, artist-designed vehicle inspired by South Africa’s vibrant beverage and lifestyle cultures.

More than just a competition, the campaign became a nationwide celebration of creativity, culture and self-expression. Partnering with some of South Africa’s most talented visual artists, illustrators and graffiti creatives, TOPS at SPAR transformed six vehicles into moving works of art inspired by Beer, Whiskey, Cocktail, Wine, Gin and Tequila Kulcha.

One of the standout contributors was Mduduzi Tshabalala, better known as Psalm1, who brought the Whiskey Kulcha vehicle to life through his signature graffiti-inspired style. His design captured the evolving identity of whiskey culture while celebrating authenticity and urban creativity.

Artist and illustrator Shaun Oakley, known as Damn Vandal, designed both the Beer and Tequila Kulcha vehicles, creating bold and energetic visual statements inspired by celebration and individuality.

Meanwhile, acclaimed artist KevSeven created the Wine Kulcha vehicle, infusing it with themes of Black excellence, heritage and pride.

“Art is about connection, identity and representation,” said KevSeven. “To see people engaging with the work in such an exciting and celebratory way has been incredibly rewarding.”

Illustrator and graphic designer Mncedisi Hlophe, known professionally as Agrippa, completed the collection by designing both the Cocktail and Gin Kulcha vehicles, drawing inspiration from contemporary social culture and modern design aesthetics.

The six winners of the competition are:

  • Ruan Smal – Whiskey Kulcha Car
  • Sabinah Matsane – Wine Kulcha Car
  • Yolande Janse Van Vuuren – Cocktail Kulcha Car
  • Xolisani Dlamini – Beer Kulcha Car
  • Sam Noseko – Tequila Kulcha Car
  • John Machavana – Gin Kulcha Car

According to Anna-Marie Marks, National Marketing Manager – Liquor at TOPS at SPAR, the campaign was designed to go beyond a traditional giveaway.

“The TOPS at SPAR Win a Car campaign was about more than just giving away vehicles. It was about creating excitement, celebrating individuality and giving local artists a platform to showcase their incredible talent.”

The campaign successfully brought together consumers, artists and culture, transforming ordinary shopping experiences into opportunities to engage with creativity and storytelling. By placing South African artists at the centre of the campaign, TOPS at SPAR created a platform that celebrated both local talent and consumer participation.

With six custom collector-style vehicles now on the road, the Win a Car 2026 campaign has cemented itself as one of the country’s most memorable and culturally driven promotions of the year.
