eVOD is set to welcome BET’s original drama series Queendom, which makes its streaming debut on the platform on 5 February 2026. Deeply rooted in African heritage and driven by destiny, the series explores powerful themes of tradition, ancestry, identity, power and survival.
At the centre of the story is Nthandokayise “Ntando” Mthombeni, portrayed by Linda Mtoba, a fearless community leader from Tsakane whose life is irrevocably changed when she discovers she is the rightful heir to the throne of the Khahlamba Kingdom. Unaware of her royal lineage, Ntando is forced to confront a truth her mother concealed for more than three decades.
Her mother, Tholakele Mthombeni, played by Sindi Dlathu, fled the kingdom years ago to protect her child, burying Ntando’s royal bloodline in secrecy. When the past finally resurfaces, Ntando is thrust into a dangerous world of palace politics, betrayal and ruthless power struggles that threaten both her life and the future of the kingdom.
Queendom boasts a formidable cast of South African acting heavyweights. The ensemble includes Hamilton Dlamini as King Banzi Khahlamba, Mduduzi Mabaso as Prince Andile Khahlamba, Pallance Dladla as the ambitious Prince Mcebo Khahlamba, Dawn Thandeka King as Queen MaNdlovu, and Linda Mtoba in a career-defining lead role. They are joined by Slindile Nodangala, Themba Ndaba, Mike Mvelase, Lehasa Moloi, Nhlanhla Kunene and Patrick Mofokeng.

Produced by Clive Morris Productions, the series is led by Head Director Andries van der Merwe, with Series Directors Athi Patela and Menga Nhlabathi, Head Writer Lunga Radebe, and Showrunner Sayitsheni Mdakhi.
From the streets of Tsakane to the throne of a kingdom, Queendom is a gripping tale of awakening, courage and the heavy price of destiny.

Queendom streams exclusively on eVOD from 5 February 2026.
