- A rare tequila once made only for local families in Jalisco, Mexico.
- Additive-free Reposado and Añejo crafted using traditional methods.
- Two easy, premium cocktails: the Reposado Paloma and the Mantecada.
Código 1530 is more than just a tequila brand — it’s a celebration of tradition, craft, and authenticity. Founded in the heart of Mexico’s tequila region, the brand takes its name from the old town codes once used in Los Bajos, Jalisco. For generations, local families produced tequila using time-honoured methods, never intending to sell it publicly. It was simply made to be shared among friends and neighbours.
That changed when a close-knit group of tequila lovers, including country music star George Strait, decided to share this exceptional spirit with the world — without changing the recipe. To this day, Código 1530 is still made in small batches, using fully mature agave, carefully cooked, fermented, and distilled with no shortcuts. No additives. No artificial flavouring. Just pure, refined tequila as it was meant to be enjoyed.
Whether sipped neat or mixed into a premium cocktail, Código 1530 delivers smoothness, balance, and character in every pour. Here are two signature serves that perfectly showcase the Reposado and Añejo expressions.
Código 1530 Reposado Paloma
A fresh, vibrant cocktail with citrus bite and elegant depth.
Ingredients:
- 50ml Código 1530 Reposado
- 60ml fresh grapefruit juice
- 10–15ml agave syrup (to taste)
- 15ml fresh lime juice
- Soda water to top
- Pinch of salt or salt rim (optional)
- Ice
Method:
Lightly salt the rim of a chilled highball glass if desired. Add the Código 1530 Reposado, grapefruit juice, lime juice, agave syrup, and a pinch of salt to a shaker. Shake well over ice until chilled. Strain into the prepared glass over fresh ice, top with soda water, and garnish with a grapefruit wedge or zest twist for a fragrant finish.
The Mantecada (Añejo Cocktail)
A smooth, slow-sipping cocktail with warm, dessert-like notes.
Ingredients:
- 50ml Código 1530 Añejo
- 10ml maple syrup
- 2 dashes cocoa bitters
- Ice
- Orange peel
Method:
Add the Añejo tequila, maple syrup, and cocoa bitters to a mixing glass filled with ice. Stir gently until perfectly chilled and silky smooth. Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice and finish with an expressed orange peel, releasing its oils over the drink for a rich, aromatic finish.
From its deep roots in Jalisco to its place behind premium bars around the world, Código 1530 continues to represent tequila in its purest form. Whether you prefer something fresh and citrusy or warm and indulgent, these cocktails are the perfect way to experience the craftsmanship in every bottle.
